Generation 17:6
Around two years ago, a teenage student had a choice to make. For him, it was a big one. His parents told him, “This summer, we can either send you on the mission trip with the youth group or get you the Xbox. We can’t afford to do both. Like many students, the young man loved to play video games, but somehow, he knew he should do the mission trip. So he chose to go spend a week working with Project Crossroads with his youth group in southwest Virginia. They spent the week working with people in need, and at the end of the week, the young man stood up and said, “Before I came, I had a choice to either go on this trip or to get an Xbox. I’m so glad I came on this trip because it has been one of the best weeks of my life.”
He was a student who loved God and wanted to serve others more than what he could get for himself. Acts 17:6 says, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.” By now, he may have an Xbox, but that young man has the heart of a leader worth following. Part of Generation 17:6. These are “Encounters with Hope.”
